Jen from Mess Hall To Bistro and I are at it again...
Canning Week is coming back this year!
August 22nd - 26th, 2011
Each day that week we will post recipes and tips on how to can, along with easy step by step instructions so you try canning for yourself. We offer lots of opportunities to ask questions and interact with other bloggers who can so you can learn. During the week we will have a linky party open so if you are already a canner you can link up recipes of your own. And we are super excited to announce that our Guest Judge of the Linky Contest will be the Hip Girl herself... Kate from the blog The Hip Girls Guide to Homemaking. She will choose the linked up blog post with the best recipes, pictures and overall write up and award a copy of her new book The Hip Girls Guide to Homemaking.
And what party would be complete without prizes?!?! We are super excited to announce our sponsors and some awesome giveaways! Here's just a glimpse of what you can look forward to:
2 Dozen Tattler Reusable Canning Lids
A Discovery Canning Kit from Ball Fresh Preserves.
Punk Domestics will be giving away a "Yes I Can" T-Shirt
You can also check out our facebook group "from garden plOTT to kitchen pOTT" for more fun, news, tips and recipes!
Here's a recap of some of the great posts from Canning Week 2010.
Don't forget to check out the after party "We Canned a lOTT, Now We're Baking in our Bistro."

So excited! This year was my first attempt at canning and I only attempted the water bath canning - I made salsa and jams! This is just what I am needing :) Looking forward to your blog!
This sounds so fun. I've been waiting for this and hope lots of people post their great canning recipes.
How does one register for this contest?
Last year I purchased some cute little canning jars at Savers. I filled them with sewing kits, made a pin cushion on the top, and sold them at the local Farmer's & Crafter's Market -- they were a hit!
Now I am searching for the same jars, and can't find them.
They were short and squat, and had embossed fruit all around it. The cap insert was white and circled with multi-colored fruit.
Jarden/Ball no longer carries them.
Can you help?
