Reviewing Marigold Star childrens book

Please note I was sent product samples in exchange for this blog post.  All photos and opinions are my own.
I have a bookworm in my house. She devours books in no time.  Mainly chapter books about fairytale like places, but she's been known to get into the non-fiction books as well.  Once she starts it's hard to get her to stop.  Book fairs and libraries beware as she has been known to frequent them.  And there is one book that recently fell victim to the bookavore... Marigold Star by Elise Primavera.

This time I found the book hound in bed with a flashlight and when I asked her what the book was about she said....  Marigold Star is a girl that was born with a star above her head, but she doesn't know why and she can't do magic.  In fact she is so bad at magic she gets sent to earth and has to befriend human children.  She has a pet dragon and they try to get back to where they come from, a magical place called Bramblycrumbly where she has parents and a baby sister waiting on her.  She has several friends that help her along the way.  The characters in the story are very detailed not only in appearance but also their mannerism and deposition.  There is artwork throughout the book (done by the author) that is also detailed and imaginative.  Overall, a nice story about making friends and working together.

Copies of Marigold Star can be purchased on Amazon.

Thanks to Harper Collins for providing my bookworm a sample book for this review.
