End of Summer Games

Please note I was provided product samples in exchange for this blog post.  All photos and opinions are my own.

My two kids are just getting to the age where playing games is new and fun.  They can understand the concept of taking turns and enjoy friendly competition as well as good sportsmanship.  So when I was approached to review games...  I jumped at the chance.

My kids are big fans of Shark Week on Discovery Channel so playing the game Shark Bite is a lot of fun for them.  They have seen it advertised on TV and were very familiar with the games name and look.  The sharks mouth is full of fish and lobsters and each player has a fishing pole.  Roll the dice to see how many shark bait's to remove from it's clutches and hope the shark doesn't snap shut while it's your turn.  As you can see this is a great game for hand eye coordination and both the 3 year old and 6 year old enjoyed it.

On hot summer days nothing beats running through the sprinklers, splashing in a pool or playing Zoom Ball Hydro from Goliath Games.  A filled water balloon is inserted in a hollowed sphere and then two players stand at opposite ends of a string using handles to hold on to the sting.  One player pulls their handles apart fast and sends the sphere down the line to other where the balloon might break and drench them in water.... or it might not and that player then gets to send the sphere back.  Not knowing if you going to get wet or not adds a lot of excitement to this.   The 3 year old needed help with this game but still enjoyed it.  And for these late summer days of 90 degree heat.... it was definitely a winner.
The added element of surprise made both these games extra fun.  Games can be purchased on Amazon or at Target.

Thanks to Pressman Toys and Goliath Games for sending products to review.
