Wordless Wednesday: Winter Storm Ion

As I mentioned in yesterdays blog post, we have been snowed in and riding out Winter Storm Ion.  We had some company get snowed in with us and with cancelled flights and closed roads they're still here so we've been eating lots of good food and finding lots of fun things to do to keep ourselves occupied.  Luckily cabin fever hasn't set in yet and just yesterday I was able to bundle up and head outside to take some pictures of all the snow.
In our area we received 11.4 inches of snow which was only .7 from breaking the record snowfall for this area (set back in 1906).  And then the temperatures plummeted to the negative double digits and I think reached -13, plus there were 20-30 mph wind guests.  This is definitely a lot of snow and cold for us here in central Indiana.

And lastly here is a picture I posted on instagram looking out our window.

Hi! I just found your blog today when I was searching for a crockpot oatmeal recipe. I stumbled upon your recipe and now have my oatmeal in the crockpot. I see you are in Indiana. We are Hoosiers too! Originally from "the region" (Crown Point), went to college at Purdue, stayed in Lafayette after graduation and worked at Home Hospital, then moved to Bloomington, but now reside in Minneapolis, MN. Our family is still living in IN though, so get we back fairly often. You have a lovely blog. Thank you for the recipe. Stay warm!
