But let me get to this recipe for a unique spin on BBQ sauce. I prepared my shredded pork by putting a pork roast in my crock pot covered for 12-14 hours on low. I added a can of sprite to my roast, but there are lots of different options to choose from when cooking your roast. After those 12-14 hours, I took 2 forks and shredded the meat.
Next I mixed up my Bourbon Maple BBQ sauce.
Ingredients:
Mix Ingredients and pour over shredded pork. Let sit in crock pot, covered, on low for at least one hour or in a large pot on the stove over medium heat until warm.
Ummm.... The bourbon flavors match up great with the ketchup and other ingredients to give your BBQ sauce a peppery kick.
Atlas, it's a good thing the 2013 National Maple Syrup Festival is right around the corner (the weekends of March 2nd & 3rd and March 9th & 10th) as my bottle of bourbon infused maple syrup in gone. Empty. Dry as can be.
