part 2 of my new phone review.

In my quest for a new cell phone I've spent the past month reviewing the Droid Razr Maxx HD.   Now as you'll recall I have had a Samsung Flip Phone for my personal cell phone, and realized as a busy mom on the go, that it's time for an upgrade and the folks at Verizon have graciously allowed me to try out their smart phones in order to pick out the one that's just right for me in return for a review of their phones on this blog.

Even MacchiOTTo has a pink flip phone (toy) so I'm in good company, right?!?!  Atlas, while her phone makes ringing noises and talks to her in both English and Spanish the only additional thing that my phone can do is to actually make real phone calls.  So you can see where I need an upgrade. (Or MacchiOTTo will be more high tech than me.)

While using the Droid Razr Maxx I found it to be easy to operate and organize my apps during the set up process.  The camera was easy to use as well as the actual phone making component as well.  I played around a lot with the Voice Search App which allows you to use Google Search by talking.  I found it very useful in finding out the weather or just having the ability to have hands free Internet searches.  I took this phone with us to Wisconsin over the holidays and liked the weather feature on the wallpaper of the phone as it would update with what the weather was like for the town you were currently in.  This was great for trying to navigate winter travel conditions.
Another App I stumbled upon was the NFL Mobile App. which is available only from Verizon.  This App. was a lifesaver for Ott, E as we went to Christmas at the Indianapolis Zoo the same time that the Packers were playing.  This App. had live updates of the game, stats, scores from around the league and allowed you to watch the Red Zone on the NFL Network Live.  And we both were very impressed with the streaming of this.  It never had a fuzzy picture, or any delay in the viewing.  Granted we had 4G service, but Ott, E didn't miss a thing and got to see the Packers as clear as could be.  We were definitely impressed with this!!!
Oh and then I found the slacker radio App. and now I'm hooked.  I love the various types of music to choose from and the fact that I can skip songs.
I did learn that the Droid Razr Maxx HD has the longest battery life of any smart phone on the market.
Thanks again to Verizon for allowing me to test their products.  Please note Verizon did not compensate me in anyway for this post and the opinions expressed here are my own.
