Shredded Leg of Lamb Sandwiches

So do you ever dig through your deep freezer and find things, that you once thought you had a meal plan for, only later to forget it and then find it again and then have no recollection of what is was you were originally going to make with it????? ME TOO!!! I wanted Roasts made out of my leg of lamb, but can't find the recipe I wanted to use so I thought why not make some shredded meat sandwiches out of it!?!? It was quick and easy to make in my crock pot and tastes great. I put it up against shredded pork sandwiches any day.

To start with I mixed 1/2 cup apple juice, 1/2 tsp. allspice, 1 T. melted butter and 1 sliced up apple. I then put my roast in the crock pot and poured the mixture over it. I covered it and turned it on low for a good 8 hours.
Once the time had passed the meat shredded easily with a fork and made several sandwiches.  I poured some BBQ sauce on top and it tasted delish!   What a quick and easy meal to come home to.
Wouldn't you want to sink your teeth into that sandwich right now?!?!

paperback book white pumpkins

If I haven't mentioned this before you should know that I have a thing for white pumpkins.  The older I get the more I like them.  So while I was working on the centerpiece for my fall dining room table I decided to get a little crafty with this cute craft idea I found on pinterest.  (And you know if I was getting crafty it has to be easy, so if I can make these you can too.)
Well the project looked simple enough and I had an old paperback book I was done reading, so off to the craft store I went to buy an exacto knife.  The other supplies you will need are a cutting board, paperclip and a stick.  (That's right run outside and snap a twig off a tree because your pumpkin is going to need a stem.)

Ball FreshTech Jam & Jelly Maker Review & a Give-a-way

With a new baby in the house my canning this season has been all about whats quick and easiest to put up.  And just when I thought there wouldn't be any chance for me to make jelly or jam along came the Ball FreshTECH Jam & Jelly Maker.  This machine allowed me to put up 10 half pints of jelly in a little over an hour.  (And during that time period I was still able to change a diaper, throw some clothes in the wash, read MacchiOTTo a story, answer the phone and do up some dishes and all while the Ball FreshTECH Jam and Jelly Maker did all the work.)
Now you may be asking how I was able to do so much when jam and jelly making takes constant stirring over a hot stove.... that's whats so great about this Jam and Jelly Maker.... it does all the stirring and heating for you.  The machine comes with a recipe book, with formulations that are specifically designed to be made with ease in this machine.  I selected the apply jelly recipe to try and with 4 simple ingredients: apple juice, fruit pectin, sugar and butter all I had to do was pour them into the machine, turn it on and it did all the heating and stirring.  I could walk away and come back to freshly made jam.

MacchiOTTo previews the Wicked Workshop at Indy's Childrens Museum

Are you looking for a fun family outing to get you in the Halloween spirit???  Well MacchiOTTo and I suggest checking out the Indy Children's Museum 49th annual Haunted House, as we had a chance to preview the "Wicked Workshop" and found it to be a fascinating exhibit that the whole family will enjoy.  The entire exhibit takes you through a witches workshop and is cute, fun, scary, creepy and creative for your senses to enjoy.  And the great thing about this haunted house is there are 2 ways to go through it based on your children's ages and scare level preferences; Lights On hours (which MacchiOTTo and I went through; is very child friendly, and Frightening Hours for those older children who enjoy a good scare.  Here are some photos I took inside the exhibit as some of the details were really exquisite.
Above the witches shoe closet, and below is the broom making room.

Pumpkin Hair Bows

With Halloween being right around the corner, MacchiOTTo has several orange outfits to wear this fall to keep her festive, so of course she needed a hair accessory to match.  Here is a little pumpkin hair clip I made for her.
I used a hot glue gun to glue a black ribbon to a simple hair clip.  Then I took a thin orange ribbon and coiled it in 4 circles, making each circle a little bigger than the one before it and putting a little dab of glue at the top each time to help hold the circles in place.

3 ingredient: Crock Pot Hawaiian BBQ Chicken

I'm all about quick and easy these days. I want to throw a couple things in the crock pot, but still have a great tasting dish to enjoy, so I'm sharing this recipe for Hawaiian BBQ chicken. It calls for 3 simples ingredients that you can throw in the crock pot quick in the morning and come home to enjoy in the evening.
Ingredients: 1 pound chicken, 1 (8 oz) can crushed pineapple, 1 cup BBQ sauce.

Directions: Mix pineapple and BBQ sauce together.  Place chicken in a greased crock pot or use a liner.  Pour mixture over chicken.  Cover and bake for 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low.
Serve over rice and with a vegetable and you will have a tasty, hassle free, dinner.

MacchiOTTo's review of the Leap Frog Animal Adventure Learning Table

MacchiOTTo is growing up so fast, you would not believe how quickly she goes through clothes. So when it comes to toys I'm happy to have one that will grow as she grows.  The Leap Frog Animal Adventures Learning Table is for kids 6 months to 36 months and can be used on the floor or put up on legs for when she gets older and can stand up.
Thank you to LeapFrog for sponsoring this review. For more information about the LeapFrog Animal Adventure Learning Table, please visit their website. #LFAnimalAdv #spon
As soon as I took the toy out of the box MacchiOTTo scooted over to see what it was.  There are 7 different stations on this table to interact with and each had several things to do and say.  I listened to each one for awhile while MacchiOTTo and I were trying it out and I was really impressed how many different noises, lights, songs and various other things each learning station did and said.  The box said there was over 100 songs and learning responses and they weren't joking.  This is not one of those annoying toys that repeats the same thing over and over and over and over again.
