Cinnamon Rolls Made in a Bread Machine

Reason number 137 why I LOVE my bread machine..... I can make Cinnamon Rolls in it!!! No more wearing out my elbow with stiring the dough. No more wearing out my wrist with kneading the dough. No more waiting while the dough rises and punching it down. With this recipe my bread machine does all the work for me and all I have to do is pour in the ingredients, push a button and go spend time with our little MacchiOTTo which I'd much rather be doing anyway.

Fruit Cocktail Muffins

If you'll recall Ott, E's best friend and his wife were expecting a baby a month after us and we are happy to report their little one has arrived and they are all doing great. So like any friend of a family with a newborn we wanted to take them some food during the first weeks back home and I know most people take casseroles and items for lunch and dinner so I thought why not take them some breakfast food. I baked up a couple different varieties of muffins and one for a Fruit Cocktail Muffin is what I am sharing with you today. These muffins have dried fruit in them which give them quite a flavorful taste and make them a little healthier.

1st Fathers Day Card

This will be Ott, E's first Fathers Day so MacchiOTTo and I wanted to make him something special. I saw this on Pinterest and decided to put my own spin on it and make it into a card. Here's how I did it and some tricks I figured out along the way. 
The first thing I found out is that it is much easier to get a baby's footprint while they are asleep than awake.  The second thing I found out is that they make a washable ink pad which is much easier to use and get off than paint.

my flower baskets for this year

So what I've learned this past month is that having a baby takes a lot of time. And things like gardening and yard work end up taking a back seat.  In fact I never realized how much time Ott, E and I used to spend out in the yard, until this spring when we've been out there very little.  Needless to say I'm running behind on planting the garden and flowers, so I just did a couple of flower baskets real quick the other day to set around the porch and patio.  Now the real challenge is going to be finding the time to water them in between bottles and diapers.

I was very excited to find this black and gold striped petunias.  I think the variety is called phantom.

a garden themed birth announcement

We are so blessed to have our little MacchiOTTo finally here that we wanted a birth announcement as special as she is, but at the same time something that would reflect Ott, E and I.  And, since I went the full 40 weeks I had plenty of time to think about what we were going to do and get that all planned ahead of the baby's arrival, so all we had to do was put in the important information and print them out.  Also, with not knowing the gender we wanted something neutral, so I settled on a garden themed birth announcement, that looks like a package of seeds.
The pocket like card measures 3x5 inches and is two sided and sealed on two edges with a flap on top.  The front of the card has the baby's name with some icons of vegetables and "meet our new sprout" is written at the bottom.

Pineapple Upside-Down Donuts

I broke out my donut pan again and have another fun recipe to share with you to give your breakfast donut a little something different. Keeping with the cake donut theme I decided to try a Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Donut, and let me tell you, it turned out great. The citrus from the pineapple combined with the warm cake donut will give your breakfast routine a kick!
Ingredients:  1 (8 oz) can of diced pineapple, drained, 4 T. brown sugar, 1 1/2 cup flour, 2/3 cup sugar, 2 tsp. baking powder, 2/3 cup milk, 1/4 cup butter, melted, 1 egg, 2 tsp. vanilla
