Spice Cake Donuts with a Cinnamon Drizzle

With Thanksgiving being this weekend, I broke out my donut pans to make some breakfast to have on hand when guests stay over. Today I'm sharing a recipe for Spice Cake Donuts with a Cinnamon Drizzle. There is just something about the word drizzle which makes it sounds so tasty. And the spicy flavors of this donut make it ideal for the holiday season. Pour yourself another cup of coffee because this donut will taste great with it.
Donut Ingredients: 3 cups flour, 2 cups sugar, 2 teaspoons baking soda, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. ground cloves, 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg, 2 cups water, 2/3 cup canola oil, 2 T. white vinegar, 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions: Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg in a large bowl.  In a separate bowl combine water, oil, vinegar and vanilla.  Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and beat until smooth.  Batter will be thin.

Pour into greased donut pans (about 2/3's full) and bake at 425 degrees for 5 minutes.  Remove from oven and let sit in pans for another 2-3 minutes, then remove.
Yield: 24 donuts
Cinnamon Drizzle:  1 cup powdered sugar, 1 T. Cinnamon, 1 tsp. Vanilla, 3-5 T. of milk (to get desired consistency)  Mix together and "drizzle" over donuts.
