And because we are in Indiana of course there was a race car with the state fair logo on it on display in the International Pavilion.
Shropshire sheep show (that's the breed of sheep we raise) and as we sat outside the show ring I whispered to her "Someday when you're a big kid you can show sheep too." just as I had heard when I was little and used to watch the sheep show. And keeping with the theme of Dairy Cows there were lots of baby calves being born in the birthing barn. Below is a picture of a black and white Holstein calf born to a red and white Holstein Cow. Why the difference in color??? Genetics! The bull was probably a black and white Holstein and the black color trait is usually dominant.
Lastly, I enjoyed some fair food and one of the new Lemon Milkshakes at the Dairy Barn (to keep with the Dairy theme of course) to top off our fun filled day at the fair.
Big thanks to Indiana Family of Farmers for hosting bloggers for a day at the fair!
