baby footprint cow

This years Indiana State Fair theme "the year of the dairy cow" inspired me to make thank you cards with MacchiOTTo's footprint. Her little footprint was transformed into a cow's face with her toes as the curly hair on the poll of the cows head and her heel as the nose and mouth.  Here is how I made it.

I used watercolor paints on the bottom of her foot, since they wash off easily.
I painted both sides of the balls of her foot with black paint and then lightly painted the edges of the tops of her toes with the black paint to create the top of the head and the sides of the face.  I then painted her heel with watered-down red paint (so it would look for pink) for the nose.
I then stamped her foot on a white card.  While only parts of her foot were painted, your eye draws a natural line connecting the painted areas and you can kind of see the print starting to look like a cow.
Lastly, I used a black marker to draw eyes, nostrils and ears.
