a quick way to schedule a play date

MacchiOTTo is an active baby and likes to be on the go a lot.  Whether running errands with me, or going to Mommy & Me classes, she likes getting out and about.  As I run into other moms who want to meet up for a playdate, a day at the zoo or just to grab a cup of coffee, I find myself digging around in my giant diaper bag for a pen and paper to scratch my number onto.  And while I laugh that I have everything but the kitchen sink in my diaper bag... wouldn't you know it I can't find anything to write with.  So I decided to get some "Mommy Calling Cards" (cards with my name, my daughters name and our phone number and e-mail on it.)  This way I can pull out my card and hand it to them. 

So where does one find "Mommy Calling Cards?"  Or more importantly "Mommy Calling Cards" that have some personality or some that even allow pictures on the card, because how many times can you not recall a name and face at the same time.  While searching the Internet I found this great site with adorable designs called Minted.  Minted is a company that is always on the lookout for new designs and even hosts design contests to make sure their products are fresh and current.

 Just look at these adorable examples!  And, I love that they have square cards.

So I decided to make some of my own and of course I selected a design with a sheep on it.  Minted's online program was easy to work with to type in your information and then allows you to select font colors and placement of the information on the card. 

There were also a couple of background color options to choose from as well as choosing what the back side of your card could look like and one of the options was to upload a photo. 

Another option I selected was to have pearlescent paper.  It cost a little bit more but I think will be worth it so give a bit of shimmer to the card.  Now that my cards are ordered I can't wait to get them in the mail and when I do, I'll be sure to blog about it and show off the card.

Besides the "Mommy Calling Cards" they also do Wedding Invitations, Birth Announcements, Birthdays, Graduation and more.  I love that they offer cards in unique shapes and fresh ideas like a timeline card for a Wedding Save the Date to show off how the couple met and got engaged.  Such unique ideas are sure to wow the recipients of your mailed cards. 

Minted is also known for their indie designed holiday cards.  But besides cards I also found that they do journals, wall art and gift tags.

Update to Post on 9/20/12:
My cards arrived in the mail today and I just wanted to update this post to show them off.  I was very pleased with the packaging of the product for delivery. Once I opened and took out the card the pearlescent paper really shined and sparkled in the light giving the cards the cute eye catching look I wanted.  The cards are adorable and I cannot wait to start handing them out!!!
