National Can It Forward Day

Today is National Can-It-Forward Day!
And as you know I do a lot of canning in the summer months with the produce we grow in our garden.  It's a great way to enjoy the fruits of your labor during the winter months.  In the past I've blogged about canning and you can find a lot of my tips and recipes under the canning drop down menu at the top of this blog.  I also have a canning board on Pinterest with lots of great pictures and recipes.
But today I am giving away 2 canning related gifts to two of my readers thanks to Ball.  Be sure to check out their Fresh Preserve website for all your Canning Equipment and more recipes.  You can also follow them on facebook for tips and more canning information.

So the first winner will win the Ball Home Canning Discovery Kit and the Ball Blue Book Canning Cookbook.  The 2nd winner will receive the Ball Blue Book Canning Cookbook.  Simply click on the Rafflecopter widget below and enter your information for your chance to win.   This contest will run through Monday, July 16th at midnight.  Winners will be announced on this blog on Tuesday morning.

Big thanks to Ball for providing me with the items to give away on this blog!!!

I grew up watching my mom can the basics (beans, tomatoes & fruits); I started when I first got married with jellies and haven't stopped since! LOVE it! This year we've been so lucky with a VERY bountiful garden so I've been so busy! Honestly, I have the canning supplies I need but I do have a close friend who is begging me to teach her (with all those tomatoes I have this year!) so I would love to be able to give this to her at her first lesson! Thanks for the giveaway!

What a cool idea! I didn't plan on canning anything this year (which turned out to be a good thing, since we have been in a severe drought). I loved watching my mom can when I was growing up. My favorites were pickled okra and pickled beets. Yum!

I haven't canned in a couple of years, but I am planning on canning tomato sauce this year.

I've done some canning, but I'm hoping that this year will be a banner year for tomatoes and that we'll be canning lots of tomato sauce!
