1st Fathers Day Card

This will be Ott, E's first Fathers Day so MacchiOTTo and I wanted to make him something special. I saw this on Pinterest and decided to put my own spin on it and make it into a card. Here's how I did it and some tricks I figured out along the way.
The first thing I found out is that it is much easier to get a baby's footprint while they are asleep than awake.  The second thing I found out is that they make a washable ink pad which is much easier to use and get off than paint.

I placed her little foot on the ink pad and then stamped it onto a blank card.  I choose a red ink pad because that's the color of tractor I prefer, but you could easily use blue or green.  Come to think of it we have a saying around these parts about the color of a tractor.
"If it isn't red... it stays in the shed."
Then I just used a damp paper towel to wipe the ink off her foot.
Next I used a compass to draw two circles to be my tractor tires.  I then used a black magic marker and colored in the circles.  Then I added a smoke stack and drew in the cab of the tractor.
On the inside of the card I wrote a little saying; "I'm as lucky as can be; the best dad in the world belongs to me."  And then signed it from MacchiOTTo.

  2. That is adorable! Thanks for sharing!

  3. just found your blog via pinterest! It's adorable! And I LOVE that food print idea :)

  4. This is such a cute idea. I'm replicating it for a birthday present to be framed from my two daughters for their grandfather. I used green paint because he's a long time John Deere employee. Enjoyed this idea so much!

  5. I just made this and I used a spice top for the back tire circle and a press on circle pad for a chair to slide on the kitchen floor for a front tire.

  6. If it isn't GREEN, it shouldn't be seen.

Thanks a Latte' for leaving me a comment!!!!!!
