I prepared my pasta in a pot of boiling water.
I browned my sausage, then browned my onions. Combined the two along with 1 cup of chicken stock and let simmer for a couple of minutes.
I then added 1 can of pumpkin puree, 1/2 cup of cream and some spices to create my sauce.
I spooned the sauce over the pasta and topped with some Parmesan cheese and chives and what we ate was a savory entree' with an autumn flair. The sweet sausage really complimented the pumpkin and spice. It's not an overwhelming taste, but definitely a different kind of sauce for your pasta and one your guests are sure to ask for seconds for.

Interesting combination, but it certainly sounds like a yummy fall meal!
This sounds like an interesting twist that I'd like to try. I've made sloppy joes with pumpkin before and they weren't bad. I think sausage and pumpkin lend themselves to a nice combination. Thanks for sharing!
Looks like a winner to me! We make a sweet potato risotto with some of the same ingredients, so I can only imagine how wonderful this one is.
I love pumpkin pasta sauce! So delicious, and I love your addition of sausage as well.
oh my goodness, this sounds delicious! I'm loving all things pumpkin for Fall and I'm excited to try a savory recipe.
Found you through Tasty Tuesdays!

This sounds like such an interesting flavour combination. I've seen a lot of pumpkin in pasta in restaurants here in England recently - in fact my husband had a pumpkin and sage ravioli dish that he really loved not so long ago. Thank you for sharing this innovative and wholesome recipe with the Hearth and Soul hop!
