Fire Pits & Fireflies

One of my favorite things about summer is sitting outside in the evenings and just relaxing with families and friends.  Ott, E and I enjoy sitting on our patio and just watching the fireflies light up the back yard.  This summer we had a new addition to our backyard with a CobraCo Steel Mesh Rim fire pit with 2 benches from Avant Garden. 

Now, I must admit this fire pit was really easy to put together.  It came in a box with all the parts and instructions and in under an hour I had it all put together.  (All by myself, mind you.)

What I like most about this fire pit is that the mesh wrought black iron pattern of this pit and the two matching benches match the rest of our patio furniture perfectly.  (The benches can also double and end tables.)

The fire pit came with a lid and a plastic cover to keep it from rusting in the rain.

I also like that there is a ridge to this fire pit so you can lean your forks for roasting marshmallows on it or set a drink there temporarily if you needed a spot.  While the ledge itself never got hot obviously the heat of the fire kept the air around it warm.

In no time Ott, E had the fire roaring and we were ready to settle in and watch the night sky, fireflies, and flames.
