A "Cancer Sucks" Bouquet

The Real Farmwives of America & Friends are having a "Love for Leontien Day" so I am blogging today to encourage Leontien in her fight against cancer.  Leontien blogs over at 4 Leaf Clover Tales, she is a dairy farmers wife who moved here from the Netherlands and writes fun stories about her life.  Be sure to check out her blog because everyday you read it you are sure to have a smile on your face by the time you are done.  Today I'm joining with some of the other Farmwives to find a way to make her smile.

So I thought about what I could make for Leontien, and came up with this idea.
A "Cancer Sucks" Bouquet
Basically a collection of suckers, but I thought it would be fun for Leotien to have for times when she needs something sweet.  It's colorful, tasty and hopefully will brighten her day.  I gathered up Blow Pops, Tootsie Roll Pops, Dum Dums and various other suckers and arranged them in a bouquet like fashion.
To make this bouquet I started with my stem and wrapped a paper towel roll with ribbon.
I then attached it to a 3 inch diameter floral ball.
From there I started with my biggest suckers and poked them evenly spaced through out the ball.
Then I added the medium sized and finished up with the smallest sized until the ball was completely full.
So Leontien as soon as I find a box I am shipping this "Cancer Sucks" Bouquet to you.  And wish you best of luck in your continued success in beating it.
If you would like to give Leontien some words of encouragement then please feel free to join the Love for Leontien Facebook Page

Cleverly done! I'm sure she will brighten up at your cute sucker arrangement. Having just completed my chemo and radiation for breast cancer I know how kind gestures can lift the spirit. So thoughtful!

I love your cancer sucks bouquet on so many levels ... great play on words, a cheerful & colorful item to gift someone with, and you are so correct that often a cancer patient needs something to refresh their mouth, tastebuds and saliva. Bravo. I'm going to forward your post to a non-profit based here in Richmond, Va. that provides non-medical assistance to cancer patients ... this would be a great tip for them to pass along or somehow incorporate themselves. I'm visiting from the Between Naps on the Front Porch link party and so glad I clicked around the posts before and after my own to discover yours.
