Can you believe it??? Canning Week 2011 is only one month away. My garden is exploding with ripening produce and I have spent a couple weekends and evenings canning away the extra bouty that Ott, E and I can't eat right away. That's why my infamous canning partner in crime, Jen from Mess Hall To Bistro and I are proud to announce that we will once again be hosting.........
August 22nd - 26th, 2011
Each day that week we will post recipes and tips on how to can, along with easy step by step instructions so you try canning for yourself. It is our hope that if you don't already can you will gain enough insight and knowledge that you will feel confident to try canning for yourself. I've said it before and I'll say it again if you can follow a recipe and bake a cake you can follow a canning recipe and can for yourself. It is also a great time management technique as a couple of hours in the summer canning fruits and vegetables save me countless hours all winter long when preparing meals.
Throughout this week we will offer lots of opportunities to ask questions and interact with other bloggers who can so you can learn. We have a facebook fan page dedicated to canning called "from garden plOTT to kitchen pOTT" for more fun, news, tips and recipes!
During the week we will have a linky party open so if you are already a canner you can link up recipes of your own. And we are super excited to announce that our Guest Judge of the Linky Contest will be the Hip Girl herself... Kate from the blog The Hip Girls Guide to Homemaking. She will choose the linked up blog post with the best recipes, pictures and overall write up and award a copy of her new book The Hip Girls Guide to Homemaking.
