Sunflower Dishes

Come right on in and sit down as today I am showing off my favorite set of dishes to use when hosting a dinner party.  These are Pfaltzgraff dishes and the pattern is called Evening Sun.  I love them for two reasons... the first reason is that they have sunflowers on them and the second reason is that they look great with my red tablecloth.  (Of course I also like them because they are dishwasher safe too.)  I have place settings for 12 and several of the serving dishes.  So come right in, and take a look at my table scape.
While I have glasses to match I love to use these Sunflower etched glass tumblers which I got from the Warsaw Cut Glass Company.  They are so elegant looking and pair nicely with the sunflower design on the dishes.
For a centerpiece I used some red candles, a gold beaded garland, and a gold sunflower candle holder.
I really like how the gold colors contrast against the red.

Your table is so pretty and cheerful. I think the sunflower dishes go perfectly with the red!

All that red makes me feel welcome and at home!

DAWN TO DUSK

Yellow’s the color I wear at dawn
When dancing dewdrops spangle the lawn.

Red is the color I wear at dusk
When earth and sky are dry as a husk

And nothing stirs—not even a wing
Of bat or swallow or anything!

This pattern makes me think of summer & Michigan! My family frequents a lake house that has these dishes. It makes me think of many happy summer moments : )
