What I'm liking a Latte' this week: National Maple Syrup Festival

This week I am liking a Latte' The National Maple Syrup Festival held March 5-6 and 12-13 in Medora, Indiana.  Ott, E and I went down there is past weekend and had a great time as well as enjoyed some Maple Syrup.  Indiana is about as far south and west as Maple Syrup production occurs so it kicks off the season before other states and therefore is a perfect place for the National Maple Syrup Festival.

Nothing goes better with syrup than pancakes so of course we partook in the all you can eat pancakes.  (I ate 4 pancakes myself.)
If you go to the festival be sure to try their maple tea.  It uses maple water and taste amazing.
This is the maple house where they turn the sap into syrup.
It takes 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup.

Ott, E is a big maple syrup fan and is known as the pancake maker in our house.  So now that we have more Maple Syrup we should be set for a while.   You can learn more about the festival on My Indiana Home or on the Family of Farmers blog.

the syrup festival we go to is later in April. Always a fun time. We're rv'ers and they let all types of rvs park along the streets and plug into the homes. Very fun... especially if the weather cooperates. They also have a big craft bazaar that I love!! and garage sales all over town as well as a carnival and parade. Just the thing to get your camping season underway :) I'll be getting my maple syrup soon. :)
