phOTTos of the icepocolypse

When I moved from Northern Indiana to Indianapolis a couple of years ago I said to someone, "At least I won't have to deal with Lake Effect snow anymore." That person responded with, "ya, but Indy gets a lot of ice." Ugh! (I hadn't thought of that.) Were they ever right. There is 1/3 of ice on the ground now and another inch or so on the way. I sneaked outside to take a couple of pictures.

Very beautiful, especially if you get a little sun, but I hope those trees can bed a bit longer. Ice and trees don't seem to get along too well. Hang in there; we are supposed to get 3-5 more inches of snow today, and the wind just shifted from the east to the northwest. You know what that means: major shift of snow!

Ice is pretty; but curl up with a good book and stay safe. Ice isn't fun to walk on.

I'm from northern Indiana and now in SW Kansas where it is dry. I know you are all in a blizzard right now but I kinda wish I were there with you!

So beautiful! You're braver than I am...the couple of pictures I took, were from the safety of my back porch! I was too afraid to venture further into the yard to get any close up shots!

Stay warm! Stay safe!

I heard about the ice! My SIL is in labor right now and the family was hurrying to get to the hospital in Indianapolis before it got too bad. We've got 2 ft of snow now and hopefully we can get it cleared soon so we can come see your ice this weekend!

Its pretty as long as you can stay inside and don't have to drive in it. Great photos.

That is about what our lice looked like up close. I took my photos with a telephoto lens from the house. The wind beat it almost all out of the trees through the night.
