Ott, A's Hoosier Hospitality

Well.... Jen (From Mess Hall to Bistro) and I are at it again.  "We couldn't stop with just having Canning Week" so we decided to do a weekly feature on what we make with the items we canned.  So now that you all saw how easy it was to can and put up your own produce, this feature will show you every Tuesday what to bake with it.  And we have invited some friends to join in the fun with us, so be sure you check other the Blog Hop at the bottom of this post for more great tips and recipes from our fellow canning bloggers!

This week I will be posting a recipe for easy Applesauce Muffins which I made from applesauce I canned.

Perhaps it's my mid-western upbringing or my 4-H baking skills?  It might be my girl next door persona or my obsession with colors coordinating?  At times I think it may be my analytical mind for details, schedules and organization or just going the extra step to make someone feel at ease?  You may call it just being a good hostess but around these parts I refer to it as Hooiser Hospitality. 

I enjoy entertaining at our house.  I like to have people over and fix meals, plan games or activities and just make our home warm and inviting to others.  When we have house guests come stay the night I always like to put fresh flowers in their guest room and pictures of them around the room to make them feel more at home.  These little details go a long way in making your guest feel welcomed.
 
Another thing I like to do is bake up fresh muffins for breakfast in the morning.  Since Ott, E and I are early risers I slip into the kitchen so the nice smell of baking feels the house when our guest wake up.  A quick breakfast helps get them on their way before the activities of the day begin.
Here is a new recipe I recently baked for some guest; Applesauce Muffins.  And of course I used applesauce that I canned so it was already on hand.
