the OTToman empire would have flipped for this Peach Bavarian recipe

Ok, maybe that title is a stretch, but it's hard to come up with titles that have ott in them all the time.

So I had a jar of peaches I had canned last summer. (yes, I can and yes I enjoy it, but I'll blog about that another day.) Ott, E and I traveled to Michigans' Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsula's last summer. While we were there we bought some fresh Michigan peaches which I canned and we have been eating on all winter. I was flipping though the pages of some of my cookbooks (Taste of Home "Mom's Best Meals") looking for something new.

Peach Pie....baked it

Peach cobbler.... boring

Peach Crisp....burnt it and don't want to do that again.

Peach Bavarian......well this is new.........I'll give it a try!!!!!

Here is a handy recipe card for you to use.
One tip I have on how to get your dessert out of the mold is to run warm water in your sink up to a couple of inches. Then set your mold down in the warm water for a few moments. This will help to loosen the mold and your dessert should then flip out on to your plate easily. For more great recipes and baking tips I highly suggest From Mess Hall to Bistro.  She has lots of tasty recipes and always knows how to put her own twist on each to make it even more delish!!!

Overall, I thought this was a nice refreshing dessert for a hot summer night.

I love this recipe, but I know from experience that the trick is getting the kind of mold you have pictured above so your presentation is right if you're doing this for guests. Look delicious. I can't think of anything that would go with Ottoman and Michigan peaches either. Oh well...smiles.

Lol. I know what a poult is. I guess I just don't use the word often when I'm talking to people who aren't turkey farmers.
